SILVERSTONE 7th May 1955. It featured the competitive debut of the Connaught Type B (the "Syracuse" Connaught) and the first ever appearance of the Vanwall as a serious contender. Collins triumphed after an intense 60-lap duel with Roy Salvadori, who finished second.
