Lotus Renault GP existed for a single Formula 1 season. The livery was a direct revival of the iconic black-and-gold John Player Special Lotus colours that defined Lotus Formula 1 cars throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, and most famously carried Ayrton Senna to his early F1 victories in 1985, 1986 and 1987.
